Darryl spent two years as a biology major before changing to music and earning a Masters degree in music theory and composition from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University. In addition to numerous classical compositions, he has written the book, music, and lyrics to the musicals "Riverside" (produced by the Sandy River Players) and "Nordica" (commissioned and produced by the University of Maine at Farmington).
